2004 - 2005 Scholarship Calendar March - July:   Completed participation forms received from Local and Regional Scholarship Chairs. September:   Local Scholarship Chairs receive materials and instruction book from National Scholarship Chair(s). Copies of the packet are placed on the chairs web site. Rent post office box, if desired, and start recruiting judges. September - December:   Local Scholarship chair disseminates information on program to school districts, colleges, press, etc., and mails applications as requested. Last postmark to request an application is January 1, 2005. Forms on the web site will be available until January 15, 2005 at http://oldmerf.us.mensa.org/scholarships/zipfinder.php September - January:   Local Scholarship Chair (or delegate) receives and codes essays in preparation for judging. Essay postmark deadline is January 15, 2005. February:   Local Scholarship Chair has essays judged and forwards winning essays and report to Regional Scholarship Chair. Local package to the regional chair deadline is February 15, 2005. March:   Regional Scholarship Chair has essays judged and forwards winning essays and report to National Scholarship Chair(s). Regional package deadline to the national cochairs is March 15, 2005. March - May :   National Scholarship Chair(s) have essays judged and finalize list of winners. List of winners approved by Foundation Board of Trustees. Sends list of winners to Regional and Local Scholarship Chairs. Winners list is official by June 2005 and a list of winners is posted to the Foundation web site at that time. March - July:   Sign up as local scholarship chair for next year, or assist LocSec in finding a replacement. March - June:   Local and Regional Scholarship Chairs prepare and submit their expense report to the National Scholarship Chair(s). July:   Reception for all scholarship chairs at the Annual Gathering.
